Product Description

The AEMC Model 514 Clamp On Meter is a general purpose professional clamp-on meter built to meet the toughest industry standards. It is housed in a rugged mechanical case constructed with high-quality polycarbonate materials. This meter offers a complete set of measurement ranges, and complies with international safety and quality standards to deliver professional and reliable measurement performance. Its Auto-Ranging function automatically selects the optimal measurement range and resolution for troubleshooting, and it also features a high resolution 40A range.

The Model 514 measures AC Amps, AC Volts, DC Volts, Ohms, Continuity (with audible beeper), Frequency (from Voltage or Current), and includes a Diode Test function. It uses Hall Effect sensor technology to deliver both DC and AC current measurements up to 1000A.

The Model 514 features an ergonomic, easy-to-handle size with full one-handed operation. Its tapered and hooked jaw design simplifies maneuvering in crowded wiring and breaker panels, making it easy to isolate individual conductors. The jaw opening accommodates one 750MCM cable or two 350MCM cables. The large, easy-to-read 4000-count LCD features comprehensive user information symbols for low battery, polarity, and overload status, plus a 42-segment analog bargraph for simple trend reading. It is also equipped with a Data Hold function that freezes measurements for later viewing, Min/Max recall, and a fast 1ms Peak Hold function for capturing transient signals.

The Model 514 is a True RMS clamp-on meter, delivering accurate RMS measurements in today's non-linear electrical environments.

The Model 514 includes:

  • Pair of test leads (red/black with probe tips)
  • 9V battery
  • Soft carrying pouch
  • User manual

Applications include:

  • Commercial, industrial, residential and HVAC troubleshooting
  • Power panel, junction box and battery bank monitoring
  • AC or DC motor testing
  • Power plant troubleshooting
  • Electrical testing and troubleshooting on traditional and non-linear loads, such as adjustable speed drives and computers

Features

  • 1000A AC or 1000A AC/DC current measurements
  • 750V AC or 1000V DC voltage measurements
  • True RMS (TRMS) measurements for non-linear loads
  • Resistance measurements up to 4000Ω
  • Audible continuity beeper for readings below 40Ω
  • Frequency measurements from voltage and current inputs
  • Operating Temperature: -14° to 122°F (-25 to 50°C)
  • Diode test function
  • 1ms Peak function for fast capture of transient signals
  • Hold function to “freeze” readings on the display
  • Push-button for easy ADC zeroing
  • Large, easy-to-read 4000-count LCD display
  • 42-segment analog bargraph for trend monitoring
