The Badger Meter FC-5000 BTU Monitor provides accurate measurement of energy consumption in closed-loop hydronic thermal transfer systems, commonly used in HVAC sub-metering applications. It integrates flow and temperature data to calculate instantaneous rate and total energy usage, conforming to EN 1434 calculation standards.

The unit accepts one pulse input from flow meters (sine wave, open collector, or dry contact) and two temperature sensor inputs configurable for RTDs or thermistors. Input signals can be scaled to any unit of measure for totalization and rate indication. Flow calculation uncertainty is ±0.01%.

Two scaled analog or frequency output channels are assignable to parameters such as energy rate, total, or temperature. A user-defined damping function improves flow reading stability. Two Form C relay outputs and six programmable digital I/O ports provide additional control and alarm capabilities.

Communication options include EIA-485 (RS-485) with Modbus or BACnet protocols, plus USB for local configuration. The 128 × 64 pixel LCD displays energy rate, flow totals, temperatures, and delta T. Power options are 10-40V DC or 9-28V AC RMS.

The FC-5000 is available in panel mount (0.57 kg) or wall mount (2.06 kg) configurations for installation flexibility.
