The Honeywell FS24X Plus IR3 Flame Detector is the latest addition to the FSX series of advanced electro-optical detection systems for both hydrocarbon and hydrogen fires. Utilizing Honeywell's trademarked WideBand IR infrared technology allows for early detection of fires before they spread. Comprehensive coverage is achieved with long-range, wide-angle sensors that can detect fires at 200ft .

The FS24X Plus features a LED Halo ring alert system for easy visibility up to 50ft. Three infrared sensor bands are configured to monitor key wavelengths most likely to capture the start of a fire: near-band IR (0.7-1.1μm), wide-band IR (0.7-4.2μm), and long-band IR (3.0-5.0μm). This multi-spectrum detection system reduces the inhibition of environmental factors such as smoke, fog and rain, that can more easily impact the accuracy of single-band detectors .

The detector stores up to 5000 events for a detailed log history, and up to ten, 30 second FirePics, taken leading up to and in the midst of a fire. Vital data is easily retrieved via a micro USB port. The FS24X Plus is used in conjunction with Honeywell's Flame Manager software, an easy to navigate platform for data analysis after an incident, and system troubleshooting. It offers standard (SM4) or marine (SM4-M) mounting options, with a sunshade standard .

The FS24X Plus operates from -55 to 75°C (-67 to 167°F) and comes with certifications including ATEX, IECEx, cFMus, INMETRO, SIL2, FM3260, EN54-10, and IP66/67. It helps comply with NFPA fire detection standards and is 100% backward compatible with FS24X for replacement applications. Tested fuels include n-Heptane, IPA, Methane, Butane, Propane, Ethanol, Methanol, Hydrogen, Diesel, Kerosene, and JP-4 .
