The KEP NAMUR R/T is a specialized ratemeter and totalizer designed to work directly with NAMUR proximity sensors, commonly used in industrial control and hazardous area applications. It features dual inputs (A and B) with separate scaling K-factors, allowing it to handle signals from two sensors. The unit can accept up to 10,000 pulses per second and features a 5-digit floating decimal scale factor for total and rate readouts in true engineering units (per second, minute, or hour).

A key function of the NAMUR R/T is its ability to perform arithmetic on the two input signals. The totalizer can be programmed to display "A" subtract "B" (net total), "A" add "B", or to keep A and B as separate totalizers. The rate from input "A" is always displayed, and pressing the "VIEW" button toggles the display between total and rate without interrupting counting.

The instrument features two separate 5 Amp relay contacts that can be set to operate based on either rate or total presets. The relay outputs can be configured for latch or auto-recycle mode with adjustable timing from 0.1 to 99.9 seconds. Several units can be networked to a host computer on a single RS-232 or RS-422 loop using an optional Modbus RTU communication card. The front panel is rated NEMA 4X / IP65.
