The Kongsberg Automotive KA range of fittings and ferrules are designed for use with high-performance PTFE hoses. They offer a reliable, validated connection solution for applications requiring operation at elevated temperatures up to 204°C (400°F). This range includes screw-in, barbed, crimp, flange, and camlock configurations in 90° angle, 60° angle, and right-angle designs, providing versatility for demanding fluid transfer systems.

These fittings are manufactured from stainless steel or carbon steel, with male, female, and swivel options available. The range is BSP compliant and includes JIC, PTFE-lined, and high-pressure variants. They are suitable for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries, offering corrosion resistance and a wide temperature range. The fittings are compatible with corrugated pipes and are designed for robust, long-lasting service in automotive, marine, petrochemical, power generation, and industrial applications.

The new KA range has been thoroughly tested and validated in Kongsberg Automotive's test laboratories at 204°C (400°F), providing known performance levels at these elevated temperatures. This validation ensures that the hose, fitting, and ferrule combination can be used with confidence near the upper temperature limits of PTFE hose. The tests were conducted according to SAE J517 100R14 requirements, and the assembly exceeds minimum burst pressure and over 150,000 impulse cycles. The range eliminates the need to “mix and match” PTFE hose, fittings, and ferrules from various manufacturers, allowing PTFE hose assemblies to be used at higher temperatures with confidence. The more common termination types and sizes are detailed in the catalogue, with other variations available upon request. Carbon steel fittings and ferrules will be launched in the near future.

Typical applications include use with Kongsberg Automotive's patented Fluoro-comp® hoses, which provide extreme temperature capabilities and burn-through resistance, as well as other PTFE, ETFE, and PFA hoses with various braiding packages and covers. The fittings are widely used in fluid transfer systems for the automotive industry, industrial vehicles, fuel circuits, brake systems, cooling systems, and hydraulic systems.
