The ifm electronic G1502S and G1503S are multifunctional safety relays designed for monitoring tasks in safety applications across manufacturing and other industrial sectors. As a redundant system tested and certified by TÜV-Nord, they provide a high level of safety integrity for a wide range of applications, including fail-safe sensors/switches, clocked fail-safe sensors, two-hand controls, and E-STOP systems. Both models offer self-monitoring and short-circuit-proof inputs and outputs, ensuring robust performance in demanding industrial environments.
These safety relays are engineered to meet the latest global safety standards, including SIL 3 (IEC 61508), PL e (ISO 13849-1), and EN 574 Type IIIC for two-hand control devices. The G1502S model features relay outputs with a configurable switch-off delay, while the G1503S model provides semiconductor outputs in a more compact housing.

Two-Hand Control to EN 574 Type IIIC: Both the G1502S and G1503S allow operation as two-hand control devices in compliance with EN 574 and EN ISO 13851, Type IIIC. They can be used with either electronic sensors or mechanical switches, offering flexibility for various machine guarding applications.
E-STOP with Cross-Fault Monitoring: The safety relays support emergency stop functions with cross-fault monitoring and optional simultaneity monitoring. The safe state for the G1502S is when the output contacts (13-14, 23-24, 33-34, 43-44, 67-68, 77-78) are open and the output contact (51-52) is closed.
