The Ametek PK II pneumatic deadweight tester utilizes unique floating ball technology for virtually frictionless operation. The ceramic ball and nozzle assembly allows weights to float freely on a thin film of air, eliminating the need to rotate weights during testing and enabling the user to focus entirely on instrument calibration .

The PK II is self-regulating with a built-in flow regulator that automatically adjusts input air flow to maintain float position, compensating for variations in air supply pressure. This eliminates continual adjustments during testing and provides easy up- and down-scale calibration .

Setup is simple: connect supply and test lines (nitrogen or instrument-quality air complying with ISA S7.3), level the unit, and add weights. No valve adjustments or regulation between set points is required. Air is non-contaminating to virtually all processes, eliminating the need to clean instruments after calibration .
