Product Description
The Kitagawa Quinte Series QTC200 is a high-performance 2-axis CNC controller specifically designed for 4th and 5th axis rotary tables and multi-axis machining applications. Part of the Quinte Series, this controller provides precise positioning control for AC servo motors with absolute encoder feedback, enabling accurate rotary indexing and complex multi-axis machining operations. The QTC200 is engineered to deliver high-speed communication, intuitive program management, and flexible integration capabilities, making it an ideal solution for machine shops seeking to add rotary axes to their vertical machining centers.
The controller can be easily connected to existing CNC machines via M-code and safety circuits, allowing standard indexing or more complex functions without costly retrofits. A key advantage of Quinte-controlled rotary tables is their portability—they can be moved between machines regardless of the host CNC control system, maximizing equipment utilization and production flexibility.
Key Features & Advantages
High-Speed EtherCAT Communication: The QTC200 adopts EtherCAT technology for high-speed communication between the controller and the rotary table, significantly reducing indexing time and enabling fast synchronization. This ensures efficient machining cycles and improved productivity for multi-axis operations.
Intuitive TFT Color Display: The high-resolution TFT color LCD (480 × 272) provides clear visualization of current position, running programs, motor data, and alarm information. The interactive editing display reduces input errors and makes program management straightforward. Operators can easily monitor machine status and make adjustments through the user-friendly interface.
Flexible Program Management: Programs and parameters can be uploaded or downloaded via the MMC (Multimedia Card) slot, allowing rapid program transfer between the controller and external storage. With a program capacity of up to 999 program numbers and 9999 blocks per channel, the QTC200 accommodates complex machining sequences. The controller supports both absolute (G90) and incremental (G91) command methods for programming flexibility.
Versatile Motor Compatibility: The QTC200 supports a wide range of AC servo motor options to match specific machining requirements. The standard configuration uses 200W motors, with other power ratings available to suit different rotary table sizes and torque demands. Absolute encoder feedback ensures position retention even after power cycles or cable disconnection, with battery-less operation available for custom configurations.
Comprehensive I/O and Remote Control Options: Extension I/O capabilities enable external program selection and outputs including WZRN position signals and M-code outputs. An optional RS422C interface supports remote control via serial communication, allowing direct indexing commands from the machine's CNC control using macro programming. The remote control function has been validated with major CNC manufacturers including FANUC, Mitsubishi Electric, Okuma, Mazak, and Brother. A manual pulse generator (MPG) option is available for jog and step feed operations, simplifying setup and origin positioning.
Advanced Positioning and Compensation Functions: The QTC200 delivers precise positioning with a setting unit of 0.001° and a controlled unit of 0.0001°. Maximum setting angle reaches 9999 rotations plus 360° (±999.999°), accommodating complex rotary applications. Pitch error compensation supports up to 360 positions, while backlash compensation ensures accuracy over extended use. Software limit functions prevent interference with machine components by setting travel boundaries from the machine zero position.
Comprehensive Safety and Control Features: The controller includes emergency stop inputs and outputs, external interlock support, and forced servo stop capabilities. Two pairs of EM stop output signals are available for integration with machine safety circuits. Additional control functions include dwell, lead cutting, buffer, clamp presence detection, deviation checking, continuous start, repeating, loop jump, and sub-program support (M98). The uni-directional approach function ensures consistent positioning by approaching the target from the same direction regardless of commanded direction.
Alarm and Diagnostic Capabilities: When errors are detected, the controller automatically displays alarm numbers and messages. An alarm history log stores up to 100 entries, facilitating troubleshooting and maintenance. The system also provides multiple angle display options including machine coordinate, work coordinate, relative coordinate, remaining shift, and overall coordinate.
CE and KC Certified: The QTC200 conforms to CE and KC standards, ensuring compliance with international safety and electromagnetic compatibility requirements. All models meet EMC Directive specifications, providing reliable operation in industrial environments.
