FAULHABER Motion Controllers are user-friendly, single-axis position controllers specifically designed for actuating DC motors, brushless motors (BL), and linear motors (LM) from FAULHABER. Versatile Motor Compatibility: The MC Series supports multiple motor technologies within a single controller platform. Compatible motor types include DC micromotors, brushless DC motors (BL), linear motors (LM), and stepper motors with encoder support. Multiple Communication Interfaces: Motion Controllers are available with RS232, CANopen, and EtherCAT interface options. For smaller setups, RS232 provides a cost-effective networking solution, while CANopen enables integration into fieldbus networks. Users can configure motor parameters, select operating modes, program sequence steps, and perform diagnostics through a single graphical interface. The software supports all main operating modes of the CiA 402 servo drive profile and offers auto-tuning capabilities for rapid commissioning.

High-Dynamic Positioning Performance: Designed for applications requiring high resolution and precise speed control, the MC Series delivers exceptional dynamic performance. The controllers feature 4-quadrant PWM operation, enabling precise control of motor acceleration and deceleration in both directions. Supported sensor systems include absolute encoders, incremental encoders (optical or magnetic), Hall sensors (digital or analog), and tachometers, providing flexibility for various feedback requirements.

Flexible I/O Configuration: The Motion Controllers feature multiple digital inputs, digital outputs, and analog inputs that can be flexibly configured for specific application needs. Setpoints can be specified via fieldbus, quadrature signal, pulse and direction inputs, or analog inputs. Limit switches and reference switches can be connected directly to the controller, simplifying system integration.

Stand-Alone Operation Capability: After basic commissioning with the Motion Manager software, controllers can be operated without a continuous communication interface. The V3.0 generation supports programmable sequence programs in BASIC, enabling simple local automation tasks directly on the controller. This feature reduces the need for external control systems in applications requiring autonomous operation.

Generation V3.0 Enhancements: The V3.0 controller generation offers significant improvements over the V2.5 series, including more power, faster control response, new operating modes, flexible I/O usage, additional interfaces, expanded diagnostic functions, and support for BASIC programming. The V3.0 controllers support EtherCAT communication and provide enhanced performance for complex motion control applications.
