The Waygate Technologies USM Go Flaw Detector has been ergonomically designed to provide an instrument which is light, small and easy to use in the harshest inspection environments. Navigation is simplified using the proven graphical user interface (GUI) and D-pad (arrow key) control, allowing one-handed operation and fast and accurate adjustment .

For weld inspection, the USM Go offers trigonometric projections, AWS, DAC, and DGS capabilities. For inspection of forgings and castings, it features manual PRF adjustment, phantom echo indicator, and DGS. Its lightweight design (850 g / 1.87 lb) and small size make it ideal for rail inspection, with high PRF up to 2000 Hz. For composite inspection, it offers RF Display, 2 gates with B-start triggered with echo in gate A, TCG correction with high slope 120 dB/µs, and reflector depth indicated in layer .

The USM Go+ model comes with D-pad control and is available with an upgrade to DMS Go+ thickness gauge functionality. The pulser meets EN12668 specifications, with simulated spike pulser mode (120-300V) or optional uni-polar square wave (120-300V, 30-500ns steps). Damping is selectable at 50 or 1000 Ohms .

The instrument is vibration and shock tested and carries an IP67 dustproof and waterproof rating. It is suitable for use in demanding environments where reliability and portability are essential .
