The Panametrics OptiSonde, formerly General Eastern, chilled mirror hygrometer is compact and rugged. Chilled mirror hygrometers are used in standards and metrology labs as well as in industrial applications where precise and repeatable humidity measurement and control are required. The inherent accuracy and long term stability provide many advantages over other types of humidity measurement technologies.

The OptiSonde utilizes either a bench or wall mounted analyzer with a single or two-stage chilled mirror sensor and PRTD to display and transmit a variety of parameters, such as dew point, relative humidity, dry bulb, wet bulb, absolute humidity, volume ratio, and mass ratio, making it a flexible instrument for a wide variety of applications.

Designed for easy installation and intuitive operation, the OptiSonde is simple to configure via the front panel keys. An LCD display indicates two user-configured parameters simultaneously. Two user-configured analog (4 to 20mA) outputs are provided. The analyzer is equipped with a data logger capable of recording for 100 days at a sample rate of 1 second and has an internal real-time clock.

Saved data is uploaded to a PC using terminal software as ASCII delimited text, enabling it to be opened by Excel and other spreadsheet programs for data reduction, graphing and statistical analysis. Communication is via a digital RS-232 interface for data integrity. The patented PACER cycle automatically cleans the mirror to ensure measurement integrity. Measurements and calibration are NIST traceable.
