Product Description
The Dynasonics DXN-5P is a portable, hybrid ultrasonic flow meter designed for non-invasive diagnostics of flow issues. It is easy to install and can measure flow using ultrasonic sensors with Doppler, transit time, or thermal energy methods, automatically switching to the method with the better signal when both transducer types are used . This makes it a powerful tool for verifying existing inline meters, identifying unwanted air in pipes, or profiling usage over time .
The DXN-5P uses a transit time method for cleaner fluids and a Doppler method for fluids with suspended solids or gas bubbles. Equipped with optional RTD temperature sensors, it can also measure thermal energy or mass flow, calculating energy usage in heat exchangers by measuring volumetric flow and inlet/outlet temperatures .
The meter covers a wide flow range from 0.7 to 33,000 gpm and temperatures from -40 to 250°F. Transit time accuracy ranges from ±0.5% to ±1% of reading depending on pipe size, while Doppler accuracy is ±2% of full scale. It features a backlit LED graphical display, data logging for up to 8 parameters with time/date stamps, and can be powered by battery, 12/24 VDC, or mains. Configuration and troubleshooting are simplified via USB-C or Bluetooth connection. It has an IP65 ingress protection rating and CE and cCSAus approvals .
