Product Description

The Extech DVA30 is the only 2-in-1 current and voltage detector designed specifically for electrical testing. This innovative instrument provides non-contact AC voltage detection from 12V to 600V AC and non-contact AC current detection from 200mA to 1000A AC, making it a versatile tool for electricians and maintenance technicians .

The current detection function can detect current flows of 400mA at 0.2 inches distance, with much greater distances for larger current flows. The detector can sense current through shielded wires, conduit, and even metal circuit breaker or junction boxes, allowing users to trace energized circuits without direct access to conductors .

Adjustable sensitivity allows the user to increase or reduce the sensor trigger threshold to suit different applications and environments. Both audible and visual indicators alert the operator when voltage or current is detected, providing clear confirmation of live circuits .

Applications include tracing concealed wires in walls and floors, identifying hot wires in junction boxes and panels, and tracing current in areas where voltage detection alone does not work—such as through metal conduit or shielded cables. The DVA30 is an essential troubleshooting tool for electrical professionals working in residential, commercial, and industrial settings .
