The Honeywell XNX is a universal transmitter designed for toxic, oxygen, and combustible gas detection. It supports the widest range of sensors on a common platform and offers a modular choice of inputs and outputs, making it a highly flexible solution for various industrial applications, including upstream/downstream oil and gas, chemical, and wastewater industries. It satisfies Class 1/Class 2 intrinsically safe and explosion-proof requirements.

The XNX is available in three versions supporting millivolt (catalytic bead and IR cell), electrochemical cell, and infrared (point and open-path) gas detection. The Multi-Purpose Detector (MPD) version allows field service of mV, catalytic bead, and IR cell capabilities. Simple plug-in sensors and replaceable cells make maintenance straightforward. The transmitter features a large, backlit, easy-to-view LCD display with multisensory indicators (visual icons, colored buttons, text) to display gas and sensor readings.

For system integration, the XNX offers a variety of communication options. HART communication comes standard, with optional EDDL, Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, or relays. It can interface directly with PLCs and DCS systems, eliminating the need for extra controllers or junction boxes. The enclosure is available in stainless steel or aluminum with a marine-grade coating, and five threaded ports (metric or NPT) provide ultimate installation flexibility. Self-test and fault indication features, along with quick calibration with auto-inhibit, enhance its operational integrity.
