Product Description

The Pyxis CR-Series LPR corrosion rate sensors provide real-time monitoring of general and localized corrosion, offering a reliable and efficient alternative to traditional corrosion coupons.

Utilizing the Linear Polarization Resistance (LPR) method, these sensors deliver immediate corrosion rate measurements in Mils-Per-Year (MPY) and are especially effective in cooling and process water treatment systems. Unlike corrosion coupons which require extended exposure times, CR-Series sensors provide instantaneous feedback, allowing for faster performance assessment and system adjustments.

The sensors integrate electrochemical noise analysis to evaluate pitting and localized corrosion, offering a comprehensive corrosion profile. The localized corrosion index ranges from 0.001 to 100, where an index of 100 corresponds to the pitting trend of 304 stainless steel in 10% ferric chloride solution at 72°F.

Built-in conductivity compensation (10 to 10,000 µS/cm) ensures accurate readings across varying water qualities. Both models condition and digitize signals at the source, eliminating the need for external transmitters or long-distance wiring.

Two models are available:

CR-200 (P/N 51006) is a battery-powered (3.6V ER26500 lithium battery), Bluetooth-enabled portable unit with onboard data storage (6 months at 30-minute sampling interval). It supports wireless connectivity to uPyxis mobile app and can store data as CSV files.

CR-300 (P/N 51007) is a 24V DC-powered sensor with dual 4-20mA outputs (general corrosion rate and localized corrosion index) and RS-485 Modbus communication. It includes an MA-CR Bluetooth adapter for wireless configuration and monitoring.

Both sensors are housed in durable 304 stainless steel enclosures, rated IP65, and operate from 14 to 122°F (-10 to 50°C) with pressure rating up to 100 psi. Installation uses a 1-inch NPT threaded tee with adjustable insertion depth.
