The Kobold MIS electromagnetic flow meter was developed for measuring and monitoring medium-sized flow of conductive liquids in pipes. It operates on the electromagnetic measurement principle: according to Faraday's law of magnetic induction, a voltage is induced in a conductor moving through a magnetic field. The conductive media acts as the conductor, and the induced voltage is proportional to flow velocity .

The measurement does not depend on the process liquid and its properties such as density, viscosity, and temperature. It offers 2 configurable outputs and features monitoring, batching, and transmitter functions. The batching function has an external control input. There is both a grand and resettable totalizer .

The colored, multi-parameter TFT display rotates in 90-degree increments for easy viewing, regardless of the installation position. Setup is easy with the intuitive menu, accessed by the four optical touch keys on the display. The MIS also offers bi-directional measurement capabilities. IO-Link comes standard for advanced communication and diagnostics .

Available in 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 inch ANSI flange sizes, with flow ranges from 2.65 to 1,100 GPM depending on size. Maximum pressure rating is 230 PSIG, and it can handle viscosities up to 100,000 cP.
