The FLIR VS290-32 is an industrial thermal and visual videoscope designed for safe inspection of difficult-to-access locations, particularly underground electrical distribution vaults. Its 2-meter flexible probe allows inspection through small openings while maintaining a safe distance from hazards.

The system combines a 160×120 true thermal imager with a 2 MP visible light camera and FLIR MSX® (Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging) technology, which embosses visible scene details onto the thermal image for enhanced clarity and identification of potential issues before failure occurs. The thermal sensitivity is <100 mK with a spectral range of 7.5 to 14 µm.

Temperature measurement range is -10 to 400°C (14 to 752°F) with accuracy of ±3°C from 0 to 100°C and ±3% from 100 to 400°C. The probe tip features a side-viewing 11 mm rectangular camera with built-in LED worklight for dark environments.

The 3.5-inch color LCD display (320×240 pixels) provides clear viewing with multiple color palettes including iron, rainbow, gray, and alarm-based isotherms. Images and videos are saved as radiometric JPEGs on the included 16 GB SD card and can be transferred via USB-C to a PC for analysis using FLIR Thermal Studio software .

Safety and durability are paramount: the system carries a CAT IV 600V safety rating for high-voltage electrical work, with IP67 protection for the probe tip and IP54 for the main unit and cable. It operates from -10 to 50°C and withstands 25g shock and 2g vibration.

The complete kit includes the videoscope display, MSX camera probe, two rechargeable Li-ion batteries, battery charger, 16GB SD card, USB cable, wrist strap, and hard carrying case.
