The Rotronic HygroGen2 Humidity and Temperature Generator is a precision calibration instrument that utilizes a mixed flow method to precisely generate known humidity and temperature conditions within a well-insulated chamber. A desiccant cartridge provides low humidity while a saturator provides high humidity; these streams are mixed by a control system to create stable humidity from 5 to 95% RH. Temperature is controlled with a thermoelectric heat pump from 0 to 60°C.

This self-contained unit requires no external resources except main power, making it suitable for both laboratory and on-site use. It can also be used together with an external chilled mirror reference instrument for enhanced accuracy. The HygroGen2 typically requires less than 5 minutes to equilibrate from one humidity condition to another when temperature is held constant, significantly speeding calibration workflows.

The instrument features an intuitive touch-screen graphical interface with programmable ramp and soak functions supporting multiple steps and profiles. An embedded PC allows for configuration, control, and automated functions. The included HW4-P software provides comprehensive data acquisition, calibration, and adjustment functions for HygroClip probes and other humidity instruments.

Integrated connectivity includes a 9-port USB hub designed for Rotronic USB probe adapters and peripherals such as mouse and keyboard, plus an RJ-45 Ethernet port for straightforward PC communication. With its ability to calibrate up to five probes simultaneously and exceptional stability (<±0.1% RH, <±0.01°C), the HygroGen2 is ideal for pharmaceutical manufacturing, food processing, metrology laboratories, and industrial quality assurance applications requiring precise, repeatable humidity and temperature calibration.
