The Rosemount 402 is a retractable contacting conductivity sensor designed for removal from process piping without shutting down or draining the line. It fits through a 1-1/4" full-port ball valve and is ideal for clean, non-corrosive samples with conductivity less than 20,000 µS/cm.

Four cell constants cover a broad range: 0.01/cm, 0.1/cm, 1.0/cm, and 10/cm. Sensors with 0.01-1.0/cm constants feature concentric titanium electrodes, PEEK insulator, and 316 SS tube. The 10/cm sensor has graphite electrodes and epoxy body. All include a platinum RTD for temperature compensation and EPDM seals. No initial calibration required—factory-measured cell constant ensures out-of-the-box accuracy.

Rated for 32-212°F (0-100°C) and 200 psig (1481 kPa abs). Retraction pressure must be ≤64 psig (542 kPa abs). Standard cable is 10 ft (3.1 m); option -60 adds junction box for extended runs. Optional retraction assembly includes ball valve, nipple, packing adapter, and clamp.
