Product Description
The Isotech 976 Gemini R is a portable blackbody calibration source designed specifically for calibrating non-contact infrared thermometers and radiation pyrometers over the temperature range of 30°C to 550°C. It serves as a primary radiation source, delivering laboratory-grade performance with low uncertainty calibrations.
The Gemini R features a 65 mm diameter cavity with 160 mm depth and emissivity greater than 0.995, ensuring excellent temperature uniformity. The digital PID controller allows precise temperature setting with 0.1°C resolution, while a separate built-in indicator with an included platinum resistance thermometer provides independent verification of radiance temperature. Temperature stability is maintained at ±0.1°C, with maximum variation of ±1°C across the 100-500°C range.
For the highest precision measurements, the Gemini R accepts ITS-90 fixed point cells including gallium (29.7646°C), indium (156.5985°C), tin (231.928°C), and zinc (419.527°C), achieving uncertainties as low as ±0.25°C. Optional orifice plates (10-50mm) allow aperture restriction for different sensor sizes.
The unit comes standard with Cal Notepad software, which automatically logs and displays temperature data from the calibration bath and the unit under test. The software is compatible with Windows 10/11 and enables data export for report generation. RS232 or RS422 communications are included for PC connectivity.
Each Gemini R includes a 3-point traceable calibration certificate for the built-in indicator and supplied probe, with UKAS accreditation available as an option. Heating time to 550°C is approximately 45 minutes, with typical power consumption of 1000W.
