The Extech 45118 is a rugged, pocket-sized mini thermo-anemometer designed for quick and accurate air velocity and temperature measurements in the field. Its innovative foldable housing protects the impeller when not in use and extends to 9 inches for better reach into ducts, vents, and other tight spaces.

The large dual display shows air velocity and temperature simultaneously, with velocity readings available in multiple units including ft/min, MPH, m/s, km/h, knots, and Beaufort Force. The replaceable impeller is made of non-corrosive plastic for long-lasting performance. Temperature is measured via a built-in thermistor with a range of 0 to 122°F and accuracy of ±1.8°F.

For enhanced field usability, the 45118 includes a selectable averaging function (5, 10, or 13 seconds) to smooth fluctuating readings, plus Data Hold to freeze the display. The auto shutoff feature conserves battery life by turning off the meter 20 minutes after the last key press.

Built for tough environments, the housing is water-resistant, floats if dropped in water, and is drop-tested to 6 feet. A lithium battery and lanyard are included for immediate use.

Typical applications include HVAC system checks, environmental monitoring, field service, and educational demonstrations.
